House Rules

Terms of Service

Welcome to The Pundit. By creating an account or playing, you agree to these terms. They are intentionally short, in plain English, and written for the game we actually run.

1. What this is

The Pundit is a free-to-play prediction game built around football tournaments. It uses a virtual stake currency. There are no deposits, no cash wagering and no cash-out. Some competitions may separately offer prizes based on the final leaderboard — see §15.

2. 18+ only

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or play.
  • You must provide accurate identity information, including your date of birth.
  • We may restrict, suspend, or remove accounts that provide false age or identity information.

3. Your account

  • You must provide a valid email and a password.
  • One account per person. Don't impersonate anyone else.
  • You're responsible for keeping your password safe.
  • Once your profile is completed, identity fields (nationality, age confirmation) lock. Contact support to correct them.

4. Fair play & competition integrity

  • No bots, scripts, or automated picks.
  • No multi-account abuse or duplicate accounts.
  • No manipulating rankings, the pot, or any leaderboard.
  • No impersonating other users or using a fake identity.
  • We may suspend or remove accounts to protect competition integrity.

5. Match data & settlement

Match results come from third-party data providers. We settle predictions based on the official full-time result. If a match is voided or data is disputed, we may reverse a settlement to keep the game fair.

6. Service availability & technical issues

The Pundit depends on third-party infrastructure, hosting and live data providers. While we strive to keep the service available at all times, temporary outages, scheduled maintenance or provider failures may occasionally affect access to the service, the ability to place or manage predictions, live match data or settlement timing.

During such events we may take reasonable actions to protect the integrity of the competition, including delaying settlement, correcting results where appropriate, voiding a match, or leaving existing picks and settlements unchanged.

To protect the integrity of the competition, we will not normally reopen locked matches, accept late predictions or provide compensation where doing so would create an unfair outcome for other players. Picks submitted before a disruption remain valid, and the normal prediction lock time continues to apply regardless of service availability.

7. Communications

Some emails are essential to your account and are always sent when required — sign-in, account confirmation, email verification, password reset, email change, and security or service notices.

Other emails are optional — competition reminders, prediction updates, leaderboard moments and useful product updates. These are off by default and only sent if you opt in. You can change your preference any time from your account page.

We do not run commercial email marketing and do not send third-party promotions, affiliate offers, or partner campaigns to your inbox. As the product evolves we may introduce onsite features such as sponsorship, advertising, or other monetisation, with appropriate notice and consent controls where legally required.

8. Your data

We store the minimum we need to run the game. See our Privacy Notice for details. You can delete your account at any time from your account page. Past picks are kept in anonymised form to preserve historical fairness of the pot.

9. The game can change

This is an editorial game and an evolving product. We may adjust rules, balances, or features between tournaments. Material changes will be communicated in-app.

10. Private Leaderboards

Private leaderboard owners are responsible for managing membership of their leaderboard.

  • Only verified accounts may create or join private leaderboards.
  • Invite links and invite codes should only be shared with intended participants.
  • Abuse, spam, or misuse of the invite system is prohibited.
  • Access may be revoked by a private leaderboard's admin at any time.
  • We may remove private leaderboards, memberships, or accounts that are used for abuse, spam, impersonation, manipulation of rankings, or other violations of these terms.

11. Account Restrictions

We may suspend, restrict, or permanently block accounts that violate these terms, attempt to manipulate rankings, abuse the platform, or otherwise compromise game integrity.

12. Multiple Accounts

A person should only operate one active account unless explicitly permitted by The Pundit.

13. No warranty

The Pundit is provided "as is". We do our best to keep it accurate and online, but we don't promise zero downtime, zero bugs, or perfectly settled matches.

14. Contact

Questions about these terms? Email [email protected].

15. Prize competitions

Some competitions on The Pundit may include prizes. Where prizes are offered, the relevant competition page will set out the prize amounts, eligibility requirements, ranking and tie rules, claim period, payment arrangements and any sponsor or fulfilment partner involved.

Those competition-specific terms form part of these Terms for participants in that competition.

Winners will be contacted using the email address registered to their account and must respond within the claim period stated for that competition. Winners are responsible for any personal tax or reporting obligations that apply to them, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

These Terms and any competition-specific prize terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights that apply in your country of residence.
